The attack happened around 1 p.m. on Sunderland Road. Worcester Police said the man suffered serious wounds in the stabbing. Paramedics took him to an area hospital where he remained on Thursday.
Police arrested the minor in the Green Street area after a brief foot chase. He kicked officers as they put him in handcuffs, and he was carrying a large kitchen knife, Worcester authorities said.
The juvenile's name was not released because of his age.
He is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, armed assault to murder, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace, Worcester police said.
